Manifesto

For what it’s worth, it is never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There is no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you see things that startle you.

Eternal Return

“For whatever it is worth, no hour is too late, nor in my own case too soon, to become the person you had in mind. Nothing is counting down. Begin on any morning you like. You may turn, or you may remain. No rule governs this. We may make of it the finest thing, or the poorest. I hope you meet what unsettles you. I hope you feel what you have not yet felt. I hope you meet people who see from another window. I hope you live a life you would sign your name to. And if you do not, I hope you find the nerve to begin it again.”

threshold

threshold

It is the sudden turn of attention in which the ordinary loosens its hold, revealing what had been standing there the whole while, unremarked. In such an hour we understand that a life is not a sequence of accidents but a cloth woven from long threads — of weather, of habit, of the people we happened to stand beside. In that clearing the edges of understanding move outward, and we catch the slower currents that carry us. A threshold asks nothing except that we stop in the doorway long enough to hear the room behind us and the room ahead.
